On 23 February 2026, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan District following reports of Khawarij militants belonging to Indian proxies linked to the group Fitna al Khwarij. During the operation, our troops effectively engaged the location and, after an intense exchange of fire, four militants were killed. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the Indian-sponsored group, which had been actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area. A sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored cells in the region. This ongoing Counter Terrorism campaign under Vision Azm-e-Istehkam, as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to wipe out foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
